Rose by Caswell Massey is a Floral fragrance for Women. Graceful yet effervescent, our Rose Perfume opens with a cocktail of sparkling bergamot and tart black currant that set the stage for the dramatic rise of sweet wild fig and the star, the Heritage Rose. An earthy vetiver base and a trail of musk amplify the romantic sensuality of our signature feminine rose floral perfume.

In a creative collaboration with the master gardeners at the New York Botanical Garden and renowned perfumer Laurent Le Guernec, Caswell-Massey has been able to capture the authentic scent of the living Heritage Rose that blooms in the Garden’s Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden. Named after Beatrix Jones Farrand, the most accomplished landscape architect of her time, Beatrix created the gardens at the White House and was the original designer of the rose garden at the New York Botanical Garden.

Now, with 21st-century fragrance technology, we can responsibly bring the experience of a living garden to you without harming or harvesting flowers using the 'living floral' technique. Applying this fragrance-capture technology, the scent signatures of unharvested flowers can be identified (producing something akin to sheet music), enabling the team to recreate “nature-identical” scent molecules using sustainably sourced materials (the instruments, to continue the metaphor), without damaging or harming the rare botanical species.
