Ashar, composed by London-based Sultan Pasha, himself Anglo-Bangladeshi, is a personal memory of the unique scents stirred by the monsoon during a childhood rickshaw ride in Dhaka.It opens with the spray of fine rain on bamboo, ozonic, saline and green. As the ripe with overripe citrus fruit and flowers that have fallen off the branch. For a moment, the fragrance is still. Skies open and the monsoons drench the parched ground. rain striking dry earth before softening into green, humid florals. Ashar is the lush scent of the land awakening from its long sleep.
